On top form for Oxfam Trailwalker!

15 May 2019

Oxfam Trailwalker will take place in less than 4 months and you are certainly as much impatient as we are!
Here are important things to remember to prepare yourself for this solidary and sporty event and be at your best on the D-day!

Fund raising

Your team is complete, motivated and ready to walk the Oxfam Trailwalker’s 100 km but you still have difficulties raising funds?
You can organize a theme evening, a barbecue, or even a concert to express your artistic talents …
You will find plenty of funny and original tricks on our website!

Remember that you can also order promotional material that you can put up at your working place or in your municipality to encourage people to support your team.

Sport advices

To enjoy Oxfam Trailwalker’s 100 km at the best, don’t forget that your equipment is essential.
Good hiking shoes must be waterproof, flexible, sturdy and comfortable.
Avoid new shoes, your feet must be used to them before you walk 100km, otherwise you will get blisters.
For the clothing, think of your comfort rather than your look.
Don’t forget to adapt your clothing to the weather!

About the food during the walk, you should give the priority to slow-burning carbohydrates.
Dried fruits and cereal bars will be perfectly right for your body’s needs.
Don’t forget that Oxfam Magasins du Monde offers a large range of interesting and … fair trade products.

And last but not least don’t forget to train yourself before the D day!
Go at your own pace, set up several training sessions, in team or by yourself.
You will find training programs as well as specific advices about the equipment you need to enjoy Oxfam Trailwalker in our section Sport Advices
