A successful Trailwalker is a result of team works. Each team consists of 4 persons who walk together through the 100 km path. Anybody can take part in a team. The only condition is that each member should be a minimum of 18 years old at the moment of Trailwalker takes place (30 and 31 August 2008).
Each team will be accompanied by a team of supporters who can assist the participants in different ways. Everyone can contribute on his own way during the preparation, on the sportive aspect as well as on the means to raise the funds. The supporters also will be there for you during the Trailwalker. Not only, the supporters will applaud and encourage their team at the start and finish lines of the trail, but also in between! This psychological support is very important, especially during the night. The supporters will make a difference between your desperation to give up and your motivation to finish the journey. In addition to that, they will offer the important logistic supports: the food, fresh drinks, clean clothes, preparing a comfortable break with chairs or folded bed, etc. Accompanying the exhausted Trailwalker participants in a proper mental state is also their tasks!
From the experience of the Trailwalkers in other countries, we cannot estimate the value of the team of supporters; however the composition of such team is an obligation in Trailwalker.
Anybody can participate in Trailwalker and go through the 100 km track, but a good preparation is essential. Even the participants in the top condition must be mentally prepared and practice on their stamina. It is important also to define the quantity of liquids that you need, what you have to eat, to know how to overcome fatigue, to choose your shoes, etc.
You will find all information that you need regarding physical preparation in this website.
