About Oxfam Solidarity
Organisation

A world where everyone has a place, regardless of their belief, skin colour or sex. A world where basic rights are guaranteed for everyone, where people work together to accomplish social improvements through long-lasting methods. A world where economic profit isn't a goal, but a way to offer everyone equal chances to grow economically, socially and culturally.

That's what we're aiming for.

l  For 45 years we're working on a different world where everyone's basic rights are respected;

l  We work together with partners in 24 countries to find long-lasting solutions for poverty, injustice and exclusion.

l  Together with sister organisations Oxfam World shops and Oxfam-Magasins du Monde we're a member of Oxfam International which unites and empowers 14 Oxfams worldwide. Poverty is a global issue which must be handled across the borders;

l  We are active on two fronts: actions of our partners on the field help people in their daily life, lobby work at the authorities creates chances for who needs them most;

5 crucial rights
Oxfam Solidarity stands for 5 crucial basic rights:

l  The right to have dignified work: human working circumstances for everyone (e.g. our partner C.CA WDU in Cambodia).

l  The right to get social basic services like clean water, health care and education (e.g. our partner Prosalud in Nicaragua).

l  The right to live in peace and security: not only offer help during emergency situations, but also stop the occurrence of human suffering through prevention work (e.g. our partner Wetlands International in Sri Lanka and Indonesia).

l  The right to be heard: opinions count and involvement is important, for individual people as well as entire communities (e.g. our partner UNFS in Western Sahara).

l  The right to have an identity and diversity: equal opportunities for everyone, regardless of belief, sex, colour, ... (e.g. our partner WLSA in Mozambique).
